The
homeless road to college.
A child is abandoned by her mother at
the age of 2. Her
father left her for
months at a time with family, friends, whoever would take her. Now sixteen years old,
this young lady has
been homeless since the age of 2.
This
year she is a sophomore in high school on the
path to college. An
honor student who is
both active in the community and school activities, she has attended
our FOCUS
program and summer camps for the past 7 years.
With all she has endured, she believes she can go to
college and
succeed. We believe
she can be
successful in college because we have prepared her to be successful in
college. What do
you believe?
Volunteer with our FOCUS after school
program or donate to this bright young lady’s college fund. Come and see for yourself. Be a part of the miracle
of the Valley
Christian Center.
Failing
to Fantastic in 16 weeks!
A
fifth grade child enrolled in our FOCUS after school
program. She
submitted her current
report card at the time, as required.
The entire report consisted of Ds and Fs and
behavior issues. That
was January, 2007.
With
structure, one-on-one help and her own hard work,
this young lady presented the report card of an honor student in May
2007. That report
card was her report card. The
school acknowledge her amazing progress
by honoring her as the “Student of the Month” for
the month of May, 2007.
