VOLUNTEER

VOLUNTEER with youth:
The Valley Christian Center provides daily afterschool youth programs, summer day camp, field trips and extended camping trips to northern Arizona locations. We can never have enough volunteers to guide and keep safe our children.

VOLUNTEER with families:
We distribute 35 to 45 food boxes every day. Most often it is families in need that ask for this help. The volunteer opportunities include retrieving and unloading food from other sites to our main location, assembling food boxes, interacting with people and delivering the food boxes on site as needed. Nearly one half of the families in need speak Spanish only. While we have bilingual staff on site, it is a big help when a volunteer is bilingual (but not a requirement).

VOLUNTEER with the poor:
The Valley Christian Center provides clothing, hygiene kits and food to the homeless and destitute in our region. It is important to us that we not only provide for their physical needs, but we treat them with respect and compassion, listening to their experiences and feeding their emotional needs when we can.

VOLUNTEER with the elderly:
Many in our community are older than 65, live alone and are in need of occasional companionship, regardless of other material needs. We take the time to make senior living areas more safe in order to prevent falls, then follow up with friendly conversation and time (with volunteers). A little conversation can mean the world to a person who is alone every day of the week.

VOLUNTEER for Special Events:
We have to grow. The needs of our region are growing faster than our current capacity is growing. The Valley Christian Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In response to the rapidly growing needs, we have special events designed to raise significant sums of money that will allow us to ease the pain of the people and fulfill the needs of the community.
